The Endurance was a three-mast barquentine built in 1912 for Antarctica expeditions.
The Endurance whilst on her voyage from Plymouth to Buenos Aires became stuck in packed ice within sight of the continent only sixty miles from her intended destination. The Endurance drifted for nine months and was damaged by the ice, she sank in November 1915.
