U-Boat Type VII Model Ship Kit
About the Vessel
U Boats have always managed to grab the attention of hobbyists who insist on shipping vessels with an interesting history. For model ship-builders, they are a medium for connecting with history. U Boat Type VII Model Ship addresses such demands to perfection!
U Boat Type VII Ship is a German Type VII Submarine and its models continue to show immense traction on our store. Dating back to the First World War, this U Boat was designed by the Dutch Dummy Company. This organization was at the helm of maintaining and developing German submarine technology at the time. Design of this U-Boat Type VII was inspired by designs of famous wartime ships like Spanish Type E-1. This U Boat was built by Germany’s own AG Weser Shipyard in Bremen.
Germans were adept in designing submarines and introduced this type of nautical weaponry to the world. Designing submarines for Russians gave German maritime designers the technical knowledge to start building U-boats for their own use. During the First World War, Germany was barred from employing submarines but the restriction did not deter Germans from carrying comprehensive research in submarine technology. By the beginning of Second World War, it was clear that Germany was investing manpower and capital into their own submarines and the U Boat Type VII Ship was the result of such pursuits.
Type VII Ship featured better fuel-carrying capacity than its predecessors. It also impressed with immense engine power. Successful launch of a handful of U-Boats led to Germans commissioning 600 similar boats. At this time, U-Boats had two stern tubes—saddle tanks and four bow tubes. The U Boat Type VII had a diesel engine that reached top velocity of up to 7.5 knots underwater and nearly 17 knots on the surface.
Our model-building kit of the U Boat Type VII Model Ship helps you recreate the magnificence of a somewhat controversial U Boat. The Type VII might have some infamous moments but it was a technical evolution in submarine technology. The ship-building kit on offer ensures that you can precision-match & assemble the components to create the perfect, scaled-down version of this lethal submarine!

Tools for Ship Building Project
We realize the fact that not every blade delivers the same. While some are best for superficial, straight cuts, others are more relevant for complex cuts. Similarly, miniature pliers with needle nose provide handy room for manipulating smaller fittings – they can be used at par with a good set of tweezers here. We bring this type of expertise to our Tool Sets. These sets have been created by our team of maritime historians and ship-building experts. You can view the entire range by Clicking Here!
