This is an experienced model kit so previous experience is recommended. Even if the kit is made of simple construction, there are number of challenges during the building process. If you are unable to build the kit yourself for any reason, Premier Ship Models can assemble the ship model for you and dispatch it as a ready made model.
Lilla Dan is one of our models from the Billing Boats range, characteristic for making high quality ship model kits. This Lilla Dan ship model represents the quality of ship model making of Billing Boats. Billing Boats have a very long tradition of model making, established in 1958. One of the main features of this model kit is the plank on frame construction, keel and frame components made from laser cut plywood, wooden superstructure and decks, wooden hull and deck fittings, plastic or brass detailed ornaments and many more details. The kit can be built according to clear instructions and full size plans.
The original Lilla Dan ship is a 35 meter topsail schooner built in 1951 by J. Lauritzen as a training ship. It was built in famous Svendborg shipyard in Denmark, constructed mainly from oak and beach. After complete renovation in 1996, the ship was taken out of service as a training ship and was put to work as a charter ship. Nowadays, the purpose of Lilla Dan is to offer companies and private groups a unique meeting place. It is operated by Shipowners J. Lauritzen A/S. The crew consist of four seamen.
