Catamarans & Trimarans
Multihull models built to commission, covering cruising catamarans, racing trimarans, power cats and charter vessels. Each is made to order from your drawings or photographs, with the hull spacing, beams and rig reproduced to scale.
Multihulls are harder to model convincingly than single hull yachts. The hulls must match each other exactly, the beam structure has to be square and true, and the proportions of bridgedeck, cabin top and rig are unforgiving if they are even slightly out.
Why drawings matter here
On a monohull a skilled model maker can work from photographs alone. On a multihull, small errors in beam, hull spacing or bridgedeck clearance are immediately visible, because the eye reads the gaps as much as the hulls. A general arrangement drawing or builder’s specification is always worth sending with your enquiry.
Types we build
- Cruising catamarans, production and one-off
- Racing trimarans and record attempt boats
- Power catamarans and charter vessels
- Commercial multihulls such as fast ferries and dive boats
Detail and finish
Trampolines, beams, davits, tenders, solar panels, biminis and deck hardware are reproduced where they appear on the real boat. Sails can be cloth with the correct number and insignia, or carved for a fixed pose. Hull graphics, charter branding and antifouling lines are matched to the vessel.
Display
A multihull is wide for its length, so display space needs slightly more thought than a monohull. Models are supplied on a stand or waterline base, with a fitted case available. To commission, send us the details.
Common questions
Can you model my own catamaran?
Yes, and most commissions here are exactly that, built from the yard drawings plus photographs of the boat as she is now.
Do you build working multihulls?
Radio controlled versions are possible on many subjects. Mention it at enquiry stage, as it affects hull construction.
